Since the opening of its doors in 1941, the Santa Barbara Museum of Art has developed a unique identity with strengths in ancient art; Asian art; American art, featuring examples by O’Keefe, Eakins, Sargent, and Hopper; 19th and early 20th century French art, with works by Monet, Matisse, and Chagall; and modern & contemporary European, North American and Latin American art.
