Local artist Liz Brady has been living and painting in Santa Barbara for the past 25 years. The natural beauty of Santa Barbara with its diverse plant and ocean life has inspired her paintings and her palette. Organic forms and studies of nature are prevalent in her most recent work. “I am exploring the different compositions of plants, kelp, and water. These organic shapes and patterns are diverse, intriguing, and beautiful. Her earthy palette is inspired by these forms and is full of rich greens, blues, yellows, and browns. Her paintings are more about pattern and color than capturing an exact replica of her original image. Liz paints with oil and graphite on wood panels so she can scratch, sand, and layer the surface multiple times.
