Next Stop: santa claus lane

Less than ten miles south of Santa Barbara nestled between Highway 101 and the sparkling Pacific, there once stood a large statue of Santa Claus, his reindeer and Frosty the Snowman. They greeted locals and travelers to this "Winter Wonderland" beachside strip fondly known as Santa Claus Lane. While Santa and his friends have since retired from their jolly post of over 50 years, this little stretch of Carpinteria continues to thrive as a community of its own. This charming destination sprinkled with idyllic shops and restaurants provides the quintessential backdrop for a full day of shopping, eating and soaking up our countless days of Southern California sunshine.
